Platform -The platform supports a futon, rubber, or innerspring mattress. No boxspring foundation is needed for the platform bed.

The Pacific Rim Solid Maple Classic Style Platform Twin Bed is beautiful and functional, made with western maple, grown in managed forests in Washington and Oregon and built entirely in Eugene, Oregon. Enduring quality and simple elegance are the hallmarks of their contemporary American style! To highlight and protect the natural beauty of this distinctive hardwood each piece is then hand-rubbed with their own finish of a non-toxic tung oil and beeswax. Pacific Rim is committed to minimal environmental impact in every aspect of production! Pacific Rim has offered handcrafted, beautifully designed, solid maple furniture at affordable prices for over 22 years.

Optional Underbed Drawers -
The Pacific Rim maple drawers are a great way to increase accessible storage space under the bed. The drawers come fully assembled and have sturdy dovetail joints. The free-standing drawer rolls very easily on straight-line (or "in-line") casters, which prevents several drawers together from bumping into one another.

*The standard drawer bottoms are non-toxic birch plywood. Medite drawer bottoms is a CARB 2 compliant particle board with ultra low emission.

Product Finish

Non Toxic Finish: Natural tung oil and beeswax finish

Hope's 100% pure tung oil
Recochem boiled linseed oil
Varathane interior (Low VOC ) oil-based polyurethane is used as a drying agent and for extra scratch guard protection. Once the finish is dry, it is inert and no off gasses are given off
The final finish includes an addition of Pacific Rim's own mixture of tung oil and beeswax that is hand rubbed as an added protection against scratching and to highlight the natural beauty of this distinctive hardwood
As in all natural wood products, there may be some slight variations of color from piece to piece

Unfinished:

The Unfinished is sanded to finished grade and will not splinter
Choose Unfinished for a completely VOC free product
